Dad, do you see us when we look into your face ?
Do you hear our voices when you are gazing into space ?
Can you feel our touch as we gently stroke your hand ?
Is there any awareness as you try to understand ?
Are we lost within your mind with nothing as it seems ?
Or when you go to sleep at night, are we in your dreams ?
We only know it breaks our hearts whenever we are told
We can only wait and watch as Dementia takes its hold
I wrote this yesterday after the really distressing visit to Dad, he is not always as bad as this, which is why it was so hard. Most of the time we have hope, but sometimes it just seems too much.
I am posting this again on here as Dad is really rather ill at present. He has a Chest infection and also a Water infection, and is very poorly. I have a nasty attack of Shingles which is preventing me travelling to see him at present as it is rather a long journey. I would be grateful if you could send prayers for my Dad.

Just remembered this site
Suddenly remembered that I had started to blog on this site, good job no-one is looking for me as I have not looked here for ages.
Have been having a "lock in" whilst all the bad weather is about, mind you if this carries on I will be here for long time I think ! I am lucky enough to have an Inglenook fireplace, so we have a lovely big fire which is keeping us warm and cosy, quite often get the toasting fork out and sit here eating lovely hot hoast just dripping in butter ! Who cares if it is not good for us - it certainly makes us feel good !!
If there is anyone out there reading this I hope you have a great weekend. Keep Safe & Keep WARM xxxx

A WARNING TO WOMEN
Most of you have read the scare-mail about the person whose kidneys were stolen while he was passed out. Well read on. While the kidney story was an urban myth, this one is not. It is happening every day …… it really is!
My thighs were stolen from me during the night a few years ago. It was just that quick. I went to sleep in my body and woke up with someone else’s thighs. The new ones had the texture of cooked oatmeal. Who would have done such a cruel thing to legs that had been mine for years ? Whose thighs were these and what happened to mine ?
I spent the entire summer looking for my thighs. Finally, hurt and angry, I resigned myself to living out my life in jeans and Shear Energy Pantyhose. Then, just when my guard was down, the thieves struck again. My bum was next, I knew it was the same gang, because they took pains to match my new rear (although badly attached at least 3inches lower than my original) to the thighs they stuck me with earlier. Now my rear complimented my legs, lump for lump. Frantic, I prayed that long skirts would stay in fashion.
It was two years ago when I realised my arms had been switched. One morning I was fixing my hair and I watched horrified but fascinated as the flesh of my upper arms swung to and fro with the motion of the hairbrush. This was getting really scary. My body was being replaced one section at a time. How clever and fiendish.
Age ? Age had nothing to do with it, Age is supposed to creep up, unnoticed, something like maturity. NO I was being attacked repeatedly and without warning. In despair, I gave up my T-shirts. What could they do to me next ?
My poor neck disappeared more quickly than the Christmas turkey it now resembled.
That’s why I decided to tell my story. I can’t take on the medical profession by myself. Women of the world, wake up and smell the coffee. That really isn’t plastic that those surgeons are using. You KNOW where they are getting those replacement parts, don’t you ?
The next time you suspect someone has had a face “lifted” look again. Was it lifted from you ?
I think I finally found my thighs and I hope that Cindy Crawford paid a really good price for them.
This is not a hoax. This is happening to women in every town, every night. WARN YOUR FRIENDS.
P.S I must say that last year I thought someone had stolen my breasts. I was lying in bed and they were gone ! As I jumped out of bed I was relieved to see that they had just been hiding in my armpits as I slept. Now I keep them hidden in my waistband !!!
I don’t know where this came from originally but I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Bonfire Night 1
Well the first night of fireworks has gone, why do they make the bangers so loud and powerful? I was hoping that my dog would not hear them, but I think even the most profoundly deaf would have heard the ones last night ! The dog next door (who is only young) was barking hysterically, our neighbours (like us) had the TV on loud trying to drown out the bangs, but it did not help as when one of the really loud bangs came, it shook the house ! We will probably have a week of this too.
Still not sure if anyone has found me on this site, but I can hope !

Trying out this site
Some of my friends have suggested that I might like this site better than Wordpress, so I am giving it a go.
Had a lazy day today, but have a busy one coming up, intending to go and see my Dad at the Care Home tomorrow, then on to see my sister. Hope the weather holds !!
